In Chinese current "City Planning Approach", the whole urban planning can generally be divided into two phases: the Masterplan and Detail plan. And according to different situations, in the Masterplan phases it can produce the general planning framework to identify the main objective, content and design principles, as the basis for the masterplan level. For the large cities, they might have district plan between the masterplan and detailed plan, based on different needs, objectives and other requirements. For the Detail plan it can be divided into regulatory plan and site plan these two types of detailed plan.
